RIFS’ INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION

RIFS is working with partnering international film programs in Europe to develop a LIMITED TV SERIES addressing the theme of misogyny.

**************************

“TALES OF MISOGYNY”

“TALES OF MISOGYNY” is the title of a  limited TV series in 8 episodes, we intend to produce commercially,  employing top graduates from 8 distinct international (primarily European) film schools and programs – RIFS is the lead school in this venture, and we are working together with faculty and former students from  the Art Academy of Novi Sad (AUNS) in Serbia; ESEC in Paris, France; Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, Portugal; Maale Film School in Jerusalem, Israel; IADT in Dublin, Ireland; the Academy of Culture in Riga, Lativa; and the Stockholms Filmskola, in Stockholm, Sweden. Together we are seeking funding privately and publicly.  Each 55 minute episode will form the series, in which examples of misogyny in these respective nations is explored in a dramatic manner, shot in the language of each country. We aim to see this series distributed internationally, if possible screen in festivals worldwide, and be an exciting, valuable opportunity for talented students to be part of. This is a project that is affiliated with the schools in that we will draw from the pool of talented graduates from each school for the writing, production and post of each episode, however it will be produced by local companies affiliated with the schools, the productions supervised by experienced film and TV producers.

The episode of the film produced in Rome, under RIFS supervision, as will be the case with all episodes, will reflect a current reality women face in today’s world.

We will regularly update the status of this project as the development proceeds.

Future Programs

In June 2024 we will offer our FIVE WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM, offering students from around the world and within Italy the opportunity to study with us and get fast-track training in the core disciplines and MAKE FILMS. Two weeks of intensive training in directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, sound and production is followed by three weeks for shooting and editing, so that each student has an opportunity to complete their own short film, and work on those of fellow students.

And in September 2024 we will begin a new ONE YEAR FILM-MAKING PROGRAM and the next installment of our TEN WEEK PROGRAM.

Additionally, we will present PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSES periodically for people local to Rome and vicinity, seeking training and education in the crafts of film-making: directing, cinematography, screenwriting, lighting, production, acting etc. (Please write for updates and details if interested).

We are also developing our PRODUCTION WING, in which former RIFS grads may participate in the writing, development, production and post-production/completion of film and TV productions. Our first venture involves several other nations, producers and film schools, with whom we are at work in development to produce a limited TV series: “Tales of Misogyny”, that will enable our former students and grads from excellent international schools to jump-start their careers while working on a series of demonstrable social and commercial value.

RIFS has been producing many dozens of quality short films each year. We also help promote these films so that they can appear in festivals worldwide, as well as find potential distribution outlets in both new media and on pay TV, wherever possible.
